Three Resident Ensembles

Discover the melodic tapestry of our community with our three resident ensembles: the Mastersingers of Wilmington, the Pyxis Piano Trio, and the Center City Chorale. Each offers a unique musical experience, showcasing the depth and range of our collective passion.

Mastersingers of Wilmington
The Mastersingers of Wilmington, a distinguished ensemble sponsored by Market Street Music, captivates audiences with its impeccably blended sound and insightful performances. Exploring choral classics to contemporary pieces, from the masterworks of Bach and Mozart to modern composers like Arvo Pärt and Jonathan Dove, this group stands as a testament to both the timelessness and evolution of choral singing in the mid-Atlantic region.
Pyxis Piano Trio
Emerging from the acclaimed Pyxis Piano Quartet in 2021, the Pyxis Piano Trio captivates audiences with a rich blend of classical sonatas, duos, and trios, paired with contemporary compositions. With performances throughout the East Coast, their name, inspired by the Pyxis constellation, reflects their adventurous artistic spirit and the diverse experiences of its members.
Center City Chorale
The Center City Chorale, established over four decades ago, stands as Wilmington's cherished 'downtown choir,' offering noontime rehearsals and performances during Market Street Music’s Thursday Noontime Concerts. Comprised mainly of dedicated amateur singers from downtown Wilmington, this ensemble provides both a musical haven and an enriching educational experience for its members, without the necessity of auditions or fees.
